The World’s 5 Most Powerful Women For The Year 2018

The Chancellor of Germany since November 2005, Angela Merkel has been ranked among the ten most influential people in the world by Forbes magazine. Merkel ranks 4th on the 2018 list of 75 of the world’s most powerful. Angela Merkel has been widely described as the de facto leader of the European Union throughout her tenure as Chancellor.

Merkel is followed by an unexpected newcomer, British Prime Minister Theresa May (ranked 14th), who is leading her country through Brexit. May is followed by Ms. Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, (ranked 22nd); GM CEO Mary Barra (ranked 53rd); and Abigail Johnson (ranked 70th) round out the five women on the list.

Well, if you are a woman looking for some good news about gender parity, a quick scan of the Forbes list can make for depressing reading. Dr. Amarendra Bhushan Dhiraj CEO and Editorial Director at the CEOWORLD magazine had said, “There are only five women on the list, perhaps a reflection of the obstacles women still face in a male-dominated world. While they may still be in the minority when it comes to leadership, the women on the list are making real changes.”

A total of 5 women made it onto the 2018 list — 6.6 percent of the world’s influential people are women, to be precise. True, 5out of 75 isn’t many.

What is the Importance of a Saree for any Indian/Bhartiya Women To Read this article in Hindi click here https://goo.gl/Ey7SUu Our saree is a gift of pure Hindu tradition. Saree always has a pallu (Free end of a saree, normally worn over the shoulder and head). Women never let it fall from their head, and if it does fall, it remains draped around the shoulder. Women fasten the pallu to the waist and get involved in their work. How can one describe the greatness of the pallu ? The infant in the cradle longs to be taken in the mother’s pallu. Hence, for an infant, the mother’s pallu is like Parameshwar (Supreme God). When the child grows up, it holds its mother’s pallu and learns to walk. The child uses its mother’s pallu to wipe its mouth. After the daughter’s marriage, the father requests the bridegroom’s parents – ‘Accept my daughter in your pallu’.
